Pregnancy Loss Group
Who is this group for?
This group is designed for mothers who have lost their babies at any point in utero. It could be a recent loss, or a loss that was suffered long ago yet not fully grieved. Experiencing a pregnancy loss can be one of the most isolating seasons; people who are well-intentioned often times only say and do things that create more hurt. The purpose of this group is to bring mothers together to process the grief and trauma with those who have also experienced the shock and pain of losing a baby.
You may have experienced or be experiencing:
- Isolation
- Grief and unrecognized grief (especially true if the pregnancy was not yet announced)
- Depression and/or anxiety about the future
- Feeling betrayed by your body
- Questions about possible future conception or perhaps fertility struggles
- Loss of identity
- Struggles related to shame or guilt (i.e., did I do something to cause the loss?)
- Relationship struggles (partners, family, or friends "not getting it")
- Uncertainty around how and when to share that the loss occurred
Looking at these areas of struggle, we will work towards:
- Exploring what it means and what it feels like to connect to yourself and your body
- Creating intentional space to grieve
- Finding a rhythm back to what life looks likes now versus what was envisioned
- An opportunity to share your story and to connect with others
What does the group entail?
The ranch is located in the foothills of Morrison, Colorado. This group is being hosted at Renewing Hope Ranch. Horses, cats, a dog, chickens, and guinea pigs all get to be a part of the therapeutic process of the ranch. Each group will allow for different animals to show up in different ways. I am also thrilled to be able to partner with Rebecca Winn to co-lead this group. She is a gifted therapist who will add tremendous value to our time together. She is also the founder of the non-profit organization, Renewing Hope Ranch, where our group will be meeting.

Through my time as a counselor, I discovered my passion is in animal-assisted and equine-assisted psychotherapy. Although I have worked with many populations, I particularly enjoy working with grief and loss. I have witnessed the powerful impact horses and animals have in the process of grief and the many forms of grief. It is such an honoring process of being invited in to the darkest times in life and to help find little bits of light throughout our process of loss.
I am privileged to work alongside Brandy to run this group. Her wisdom and knowledge of all things motherhood is a gift she can share with so many. Her guidance and wisdom will allow for so much healing in such a powerful way. I am so excited to see the transformation from this group.
