The struggle is real! Being a mother in today's age is far too often experienced in isolation, and yet somehow more hectic and busy. The result is, unfortunately, moms who are exhausted, under-resourced, and burnt out. To top it off, there's an incredible amount of pressure to "do it right", which leads to constant anxiety, worry, and irritability. Parenting then becomes an overarching experience of survival.
As a mom of three young kids, I know the struggle is real! I know you have probably cried tears of frustration and exhaustion, and you wonder how you could possibly get through another day. I know because I've been there too.
THOSE TOUGHEST MOMENTS WERE WHEN I REALIZED SOMETHING HAD TO CHANGE
I didn't want motherhood to be about just surviving until the next day. I genuinely wanted more playfulness and enjoyment in my day to day with my kids. I took the step to seek support in the forms of my community and therapy. Therapy helped me to reconnect with myself, thereby being more available to my kids. And I am passionate about providing that for other moms as well.
There are many seasons of motherhood that often get described as a time of survival - the sleep-deprived newborn days, weathering the tantrum-filled toddler years, and then eventually navigating the complexities of ever-growing independence in the adolescent years. To be sure, these can be tough times that try us as parents.
DURING THE TOUGH TIMES, THERE IS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY FOR CONNECTION & CLOSENESS
Therapy can help support you to be your best self, thereby, being physically and emotionally available to your kiddos.
Sometimes I think parenting is about holding on for the ride and flying by the seat of our pants. I also understand how distressing it can feel when you are faced with a really difficult situation or season and you don't know what to do.
THE UNCERTAINTY CAN BE UNBEARABLE
I support moms gain the confidence they need to face each difficult stage.
Sometimes we think we have gotten over something that happened in the past...and then that thing we tried to get over comes up in our parenting. I help moms work through past trauma that is inhibiting them from being fully present and available, so that they can ultimately enjoy motherhood.
I offer a no-cost consultation wo that we can see if we'd be a good fit to work together. Click on the button below, which will take you to my calendar to schedule a 15 minute consultation. We will talk about what's bringing you to therapy, your goals, and we'll discuss how I might be of help.
I DON'T BELIEVE TALK THERAPY ALONE CAN GET YOU ALL THE WAY TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE MENTALLY & EMOTIONALLY
I believe transformation happens when we have corrective and reparative experiences. I believe when we have those experiences, it integrates the parts of ourselves we have cut off or disowned. And I believe that integration of our body and mind enables us to live authentically and congruently.
The means to which I support moms have transformative experiences are through methods, like Equine-Assisted Therapy, EMDR, and/or Brainspotting for trauma, anxiety, relationships, and parenting.
